Hello,

Final got my Eco flying reasonbly well, hoves fairly stable and it's using mech mixing. I have all the aluminum parts for the Eco 8 put don't what to fit them just yet, still learning some basic moves; such as having the heli facing you, don't want to risk having all the upgrade parts on then have it crash.

Anyway i've got a few questions i'd like to ask, hope some one out there can answer them: -

1.
What advantages does having a carbon fibre blades, tailboom and horizontal and vertical stabilizers do, in terms of flying, also with the horizontal and vertical stablilzers whats the advantage of having them cut out, so that you just have the basic outline of the stablizer?

2.
I have my receiver mounted in the front of my Eco, but all the pics i have seen of the Eco show it mounted in on the back behide the main rotor shaft, why is this? If i mount mine on the back my servo leads will not reach which brings me on to my next question.

3.
Can you buy extenstion leads for the servos to increase the length of the cables if so where from?

4.
I have a SuperNova charger, i got tired of using and completely draining the car battery. I've heard that there is a AC/DC adaptor that is used for the SuperNova charger so that you can charge the batterys up using the mains, where can i buy this from. (at the moment i am using a 12 AC/DC adaptor but it doesn't work very well, i can only charge at 0.5Amps, any higher and the charger just switchs off and goes back to the startup screen takes 5 hours for my batterys to charge)

5.
How do you go about looking after the batterys, are you supposed to discharge them every time you come to charge them or what?

6.
I have 8 cell 2400mAH 9.6v Sanyo battery packs how much flight time should i roughly get out of them?

7.
Having some little problems with the tail rotor, when i'm hovering and increasing/ decreasing pitch, sometimes, i move the Tx stick (controlling the tail rotor) fully right, and the heli takes several seconds before it begins to turn right, whats worng there 'cause i'm lost.

8.
As i have said before i have the stock Eco 8 bar the motor which is the Power motor, should i change the gear pinons on the motor and tail rotor, if so what should i change them to?

Thanks for your time in reading/ answering my questions, i would be most greatfull for any comments.

Hello,
(hi there! and welcome!)

(good idea, hope you're using training gear, I can't stress on how important it is)

Anyway i've got a few questions i'd like to ask, hope some one out there can answer them: -

(Fire away)

1.
What advantages does having a carbon fibre blades, tailboom and horizontal and vertical stabilizers do, in terms of flying, also with the horizontal and vertical stablilzers whats the advantage of having them cut out, so that you just have the basic outline of the stablizer?

(carbon fibre is stronger, and lighter, using the Carbon Fibre pieces will result in a stronger, lighter heli. Outlined parts for the stabilizers means less air resistance when you're doing 3D maneuvers)

2.
I have my receiver mounted in the front of my Eco, but all the pics i have seen of the Eco show it mounted in on the back behide the main rotor shaft, why is this? If i mount mine on the back my servo leads will not reach which brings me on to my next question.

(Sorry, I Don't have an Eco, have a Kalt Whisper instead, but every manufacturer specifies the location of certain parts to as to keep the centre of gravity at the factory locations, safer for you, and your new heli!)

3.
Can you buy extenstion leads for the servos to increase the length of the cables if so where from?

(contact www.towerhobbies.com or www.draganfly.com or www.ebay.com under hobbies and parts, type in extensions and click on box for "search only hobbies and crafts" ah! what the heck, click on this will ya? http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&query=extension&ht=1&ebaytag1=ebayreg&CATEGORY0=14339&SortProperty=MetaEndSort)

4.

I've heard that there is a AC/DC adaptor that is used for the SuperNova charger so that you can charge the batterys up using the mains, where can i buy this from. (click on this https://www.fmadirect.com they make the charger, should have parts for it)

5.
How do you go about looking after the batterys, are you supposed to discharge them every time you come to charge them or what?

(Always a good idea to cycle them, that is, run a discharge cycle, and then fast charge, it erases their memory, enabling longer run times)

6.
I have 8 cell 2400mAH 9.6v Sanyo battery packs how much flight time should i roughly get out of them?

(all relative to your flight style, with an ECO 8, you should get about 11-14 all depending as well on your set up)

7.
Having some little problems with the tail rotor, when i'm hovering and increasing/ decreasing pitch, sometimes, i move the Tx stick (controlling the tail rotor) fully right, and the heli takes several seconds before it begins to turn right, whats worng there 'cause i'm lost.

(check the control throws, make sure its equal in both directions, also check the setup to make sure that everything is set up right in the right direction as well, it happens to the best of us, trust me)

8.
As i have said before i have the stock Eco 8 bar the motor which is the Power motor, should i change the gear pinons on the motor and tail rotor, if so what should i change them to?

(I knew there was a question in here that I couldn't answer, we'll have to leave it to the experts, fellahs?)

Thanks for your time in reading/ answering my questions, i would be most greatfull for any comments.

(Never forget to be proud of what you're doing, if you are just learning, you're about to support the greatest hobby known, its the people that make it great and rewarding, (prepare to abandon your personal life LOL) if you already fly helis, then hats off!)
