Retiming an electric motor?

I made a delta wing with a pusher setup. I reversed the wires so it would run correct, however someone told me that a motor was set us to run counter clockwise in timing and brush wear. How do you correct this? I can't seem to find the right size reversed props so how do you retime a 400 stock motor?

To advance the motor, rotate the back plate in the oppisite direction of desired rotation. hope this helps.

A new Speed 400 is neutral timed. It will run equally well in either direction. If one has been running for a while in one direction the brushes "bed in" and it won't like being made to run the other way, even if you do retime it. The simple solution is to get a new motor.

You can get a little extra power by changing the timing for the direction of rotation but IMO it's a lot of fuss for very little gain.

Steve has some great points. Especially if your motor has been run a while.

Some of us fly sp400 LMR compition and every little bit extra helps. Water breakin and retiming does help. For my fun planes that run these little can motors though, I usually just leave them box stock.
