Thoren,
Nice page. A charger for every occassion.
I am unfamiliar with zapping. Can you explain briefly the benefits?

Soren,
Can you give us some details on the homebuilt 3 cell lipo charger? Does it require a PIC? Perhaps a schematic.

Hi
I have added some links to my electronic homepage about zapping, in addition I have made a diagram for my homebuild LIPO charger. Take a look at: http://users.cybercity.dk/~ccc16084/
A short answer to the above question:
Zapping:
Is a proces where the internal resistance in a cell is reduced.
The zapping add in a very short time a very high current - up to more than 2000A to the cell. By this all the internal connections in the battery are "melted" together, making a lower resistance.
The lower internal resistance make it possible to get a higher voltage from the cell. For a 10 cell pack this can be up to 0.7 - 1V.
The zapping proces can be dangerous - there is a lot af energy in the zapping proces....be carefull !!
MY LIPO charger:
A very simple construction, based on standard components, look at the diagram at my homepage.

It's also worth noting that a lot of cells won't take being zapped. Even with cells of the correct type you will destroy a certain percentage trying it. That's probably the main reason why zapped cells are expensive to buy. It's not really the zapping that costs extra it's the number of cells it kills.

I figured it must involve high current. Soren's device looks like it has very large capacitors.
Soren,
you need to update the link to lakfishing. I "klik her" and the link is broken.

soren I wanna ask 2 things:
1. Can I zap my poor and super-cheap 2/3AA NiMh Cells ?
2. Can I buy the needed parts for a small sp 300/400 sized LRK motor from you as I lack the proper tools to make em ?

Hi.
1) Yes you can zap the poor cells - but I don't you get more voltage from the cell, the cheap cell is not made for high current.
2) I don't sell LRK parts, look at:
