Are the slope sites in FMS supposed to be flyable sites with actual slope lift? I can't seem to find the lift. Can I adjust for more wind, and if so how do I do this? Thanks.:)

Never really tried FMS for slope flying... I think the best sim for Sloping is still Slope Soaring Simulator (http://www.rowlhouse.co.uk/sss/). It's free, just like FMS. :p

Thanks gregw. I've downloaded SSS too and it's pretty good. I was just wondering because all the slope planes I find online for sim use seem to be for FMS.

The latest version of FMS does have variable strength and diection for wind but I don't think it is very successful at following the terrain, so still not much use for sloping.

I don't think the slopes are for sloping...I think there more for handlaunching gliders off of. I can get the Diamant over a thousand meters in the air with 100% thermals and bubbles....can you say specked out;)?

I do what Cam does..turn thermal/bubbles 100% then go
flying..the is a slope landscape...feels reasonable doing
speed run, and work on the thermals to get up again.
The Platius B4 is a good one...

SSS is where it begins and ends for slope soaring over interesting terrain on the computer, as far as I know. If anybody knows differently, I want to hear about it! :)
If you spend the time learning a little bit about it, you'll find SSS is extremely customizable and very fun to tinker with. Trying pressing "c" (without quotes) to get into the menu, where you can change "gravity" and wind strength to speed things up and make the sim feel more realistic. You can also, with a bit of effort, tweak the settings of the gliders by modifying their text files, making them fly more like real gliders you may be more familiar with. The more effort you put into SSS, the more you'll get out of it, guaranteed.

Thanks Steve. I just downloaded SSS. Pretty nice and can't beat the price!:) I'll have to mess with the setting a little as you've recommended and see how it goes. Thanks again!
