DIY PVC Field Stand for <$10

I whipped up a PVC field stand over the weekend -- it's collapsible, adjustable, and is capable of being mounted on a pole or tripod:

Ben - You're a nut! Don't ever change. Your site made me smile and besides that, your design is great. I'd add some of that split foam pipe insulation to the bits where the plane touches the stand and pronounce it a $12.50 winner!

Your STAND is outSTANDing and I will be making a trip to my local Home Depot with a PVC shopping list shortly. But, the main reason for this reply was to say "Thanks" for a real good chuckle. Had a miserable day at work and your DIY PVC building instructions put everything in perspective and really brightened my day.

Embiggen *is* a word, if you consult with the Simpsons:

Springfield Theme Song, "Embiggen his soul"

And yes -- I *do* need to get some split pipe insulation! That's the one thing I had in mind that I didn't put on there.

People seem to really enjoy the layout of the site quite a bit! I'm glad you all liked it. I figured something clean and simple would do well.

Other things I need to do:
1. Figure out how to easily mount a hex nut on it so that I can use a standard tripod-mount.

2. drill holes in the nose and tail support caps so that pencils can be used to check CoG
