I have a 20" plane that I would like to put spring loaded retracts on. ( hand launch and have the retracts pop out for landing)
Primarily this is to save wieght.
Is there a switch that would control a selenoid or other retract release mechanism when I hit low throttle?

Post your question here at Tony's Message Forum. There is (some place there) a circuit that will operate like an on/off swith from your transmitter / receiver. Good luck

How about hacking some hacks?

1) The RC-CAM Landtastic chip's pin 6 goes logic high when below 1/4 stick.

2) The RC-CAM Navlight PIC chip's pin 2 goes logic high when below 1/4 stick.

3) The RC-CAM CamMan-Aiptek PIC chip sends a logic low pulse for 250mS on Pin 3 when you go below 1/4 stick.

4) The RC-CAM CamMan-GSmart PIC chip sends a logic high pulse for 1 Sec on Pin 3 when you go below 1/4 stick.

They all have an arming feature that would help prevent the gear from being dropped before take-off. And the other chip features might come in handy too. All are seen on www.rc-cam.com
