I recently got the Kyosho Inferno MP 7.5 RTR which came with the
Kyosho GX21 engine. After running several tanks of nitro through it to
break it in I've begun driving it around. The high and low needles are
the same from the breakin process. The problem I'm having is when I
give it full throttle it bogs down and sometimes conks out. It kinda
makes a deep "wabwabwab" sound. Eventually it begins a slow
acceleration then goes pretty fast. I'm not sure how I need to adjust
the settings to fix this. Should I lean it out? I turned the HSN in by
an eight of a turn but that did more harm than good - it then had a
hard time idling.
thanks

A few things to investigate:
.. Is the thing blowing blue smoke when flat out? If not, it should be
richened.
.. What fuel, in particular nitro content are you using?
.. What plug are you using?
From http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/article_display.cfm?article_id=141 I
found the following:
"On my first run on a rough dirt track, the engine kept flaming out on me
when I hit full throttle. I made some adjustments to the needle and the
problem still persisted. I made a quick call to a local hobby shop and
they suggested switching the factory plug to an OS A3 plug. They also
suggested switching to Duratrax Red Alert 20% racing fuel. Following
these suggestions, all my engine problems went away and this buggy really
came to life. "
Which I think covers your problem!

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm using 20% nitro with A3 glow plugs.
I'm thinking it's too rich but don't have enough experience to say for
sure. I bought a temp gauge that I want to use because I don't want to
burn it up if I start to lean it out.
The engine is set rich and it's cold out right now so it's hard to
start. As the engine gets warmed up it starts to die and lose
responsiveness so that's why I'm thinking I need to lean it out. I
guess I've have to experiment some more.

Hi Ash,
One further thing I should have mentioned is that I would either clean or
replace the air filter.
