How does the Traxxas ez start fasten to the glow plug? I know that there's a
blue wire with some sort of bullet motor connector on it, and I think
there's a yellow wire in there too. What I need to know is how they stay
fastened to the glow plug, and what touches what for current distribution? I
am working on, as the title says, a home made glow igniter that will accept
"AA" batteries, but that's all I can say for now. Any help or pics are
greatly appreciated.

The polarity doesn't matter. One wire grounds to the motor mount, and the
other uses a tight metal sleeve to slide over the pin that sticks up out of
the glow plug. 1.2-1.5 volts and you have a lit plug.

The yellow (ground) wired is bolted to the engine/mount.
The blue wire has gone through some different versions. IIRC, the
current version uses a small spring inside to ensure a snug fit with
the GP post. You can hear that kind z-z-z-z-zip as you push it onto
the GP, like running your fingernail over the teeth of a comb.
