I am interested in building a "computer controlled transmitter" to set up my different models. I was thinking of connecting a processor to a cheapy transmitter like a Futaba Conquest or Attack.
Has anyone else done this and presented the results on the web?
I was thinking of using a Palm Pilot for the user interface and generating spline coefficients to be executed by a PIC connected to the joy sticks.
I figure the hard part is coming up with the GUI interface to the user.

I didn't post the results on the web but I'd be happy to share some things I learned privately.

There's a whole thread about this somewhere in RC groups I think it's either in Modelling Science or Radios.
Try a search.

Thank you for the replies. It took me a while to get to it. Thanks to you guys I have a couple of articles to read on the menu set ups for the microstar2000 and the Royal Evo 9. This is a good place for me to start.
The microstar2000 has a lot of io and wires to the cpu. I was hoping to capture the serial output of the existing transmitter encoder and chop it up in software before applying the splines and reencoding the results for the transmitter. I was also hoping the connection to the Palm pilot was serial via the RS232 port or the optical port. This would keep the wiring and construction details to a minimum.
Any additional information is most welcome. AndyKunz how may we communcate?
Thanks guys

Set the subject as RCGROUPS and my spam filter won't kill the message. I get way too much spam :(
