Hi all,
Ok...I thought about the foamie section for this...but it's giant too...so posted here...

Call me crazy but we are going to try an experiment with Bird Control. I've read many birds have an innate fear of "raptors" (eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, etc). So, with that in mind I designed a giant foamie "Falcon" to see just how much they fear the shape....we may possibly try this with control tower approval at local aerodrome.

First, I felt it needed to be BIG 90 inch wingspan. Second, easy to build (enter Owens Corning Foamular 250), just as my Big Pink is constructed. Then, I fashioned removable wings using a 36 inch doubled yardstick "joiner' with I-beam method...
Power will be converted Ryobi 31cc.

What ya'll think?? Menacing enough??

Comments, suggestions, questions??

Here's a link to the full sized .jpg

My foam building methods are explained on my site www.crazyherb.com

Looking for inputs....

Herb,
I like the idea, and the "look" of it is about right. I would suggest something of a point going backward and slightly outward from that angle just outside the aileron end. Many raptors, like Ospreys, have those tips pointing backward at the end of the wing. It looks plenty Raptor-ish anyway. I like your idea of a .40-size model, it sounds like it could be transported nicely like that. Of course, your wings are removeable on your large version so it would not be too bad to transport anyway.
