What Rx are you using? Berg makes the best available - if you still get hits w/a Berg, then there are some serious problems going on.

Rick,
What is the full setup you are running? Plane, prop, gear, batteries, RX, etc? What takes place during the glitch you describe? For instance, is only the throttle affected, or all
controls? Just trying to help get to the bottom of this!
Thanks,

Shawn and David, thanx for your replys.Setup is a futaba am radio,4NBL ,crazy max wing, hand made balsa fuse.variety of battery packs,1100 nicads,7 and 8 cells packs,800 nimh 8 cell packs,600 nicad 7 cell. Prop is 12x8 soni-tronicsFlew great for about 6 mos, minor hits when radio antennae pointed straight at model,no problem, just angle transmitter a bit, then motor froze up and I returned to Astro for repair, they promptly repaired and sent back with updated esc.Plane completly quits responding to radio inputs and goes in,sometime right at launch, other times while in flight.Tried new receiver, same problem.Have similiar setup in a speed 400 glider, different channel but still futaba am,
direct drive 020 with same controller, never had any problems with this plane, even at extreme distances.Just bought a hitec
radio, flash system x fm,a little hesitant to try, don't want to mess this one up.

Well shoot,
I thot maybe was an overcurrent or lvc hit, but it sounds like you have had sucess with it until the esc was replaced, and have ruled out the rx by swapping it out....I defer to Shawn now:D Only other thing I can think, is, to rule out the am radio and/or site interferance as a cause...have you tried the same radio/rx with a different power system(again, incase crashes have damaged something), or a different site to be sure theres not a local signal interferance?
Later,
David

Rick,
send me your address to:
shawnp@castlecreations.com
I suspect the controller may have been internally damaged when the motor locked up - I'd like to send you one to try in case that is the culprit, and if not, at least you're one step closer by process of elimination.
