i saw these planes the other day and fell in love w/them. i fly 40 size glow and parkflyers and was wanting to get a 1/2a to be a well rounded person. and to add to the hanger of course.

anyway does anyone out there have one and how does it fly with the 07. what kind of flight times does it have and how stable is it. it looks super stable. thanks in advance.

also if you have any recomendations please post me a link or a website. i'm open to suggestions. ps i'm not an expert flyer, but not a newbie either so keep the suggestions semi-stable please

Skyscooter, The thunder tiger scooter looks like it should perform like any old timer ff with r/c assist. I looked it up and have to believe that with a 57" w.s. an .07 would be at the lower end of the scale for power. -It doen't take much to keep them up in the air, but it's nice to have enough power to haul them upstairs quickly. I have had 3 old timers, 2 playboy seniors , and a buzzard bombshell. I was already a competent flyer when I decided to try an old timer design (no 3 channel experience by the way) and had no idea how much fun I was going to have once I got used to flying without ailerons. Go for it!

Has anyone flown a thunder tiger scooter? Did you buy one skyscooter, how did it fly?

I have flown a friends Scooter. It has a Frog Vibramatic diesel which probably about the same power aa a GP07. The model doesn't need a lot of power to stay in the air and it climbed like a gentle old-timer. The only problem I had is that it was a bit doughy on the turn, like it needed more dihedral, or a larger rudder/fin.

I'm looking to replace the Scooter that I had (never should have sold it). I had a Norvel .07 in it and switched back to the GP-07. Those engines are hard to find, but the GP-07 had enough power (you have to be patient - this isn't a 3D airplane) but I could get 25-minute flight times from it.

I'd like to get another, so if you ever see a new one around, lemme know.

Thanks,

Bob

I have been flying one for a couple of years now. It has been converted to electric and flys very well. It will thermal right along with the sailplanes.

I really liked mine too - as I said, I never should have sold it. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the heads-up.
