painting raptor 50 body

It's possible to paint the white body
of the raptor 50v2 ??
Which varnish should be used ??

You can use expensive two part paint.

OR...use the paints used by car modellers who paint the insides of their
lexan bodies. I use this and it's just fine, needs a bit of care around fuz
fittings etc as it flakes, but otherwise adhesion is okay.


I wash the fuz in HOT soapy water about four times and dry it thoroughly in
the boiler room prior to painting and then fuel proof it with Flair spray
fuel proofer.

I've also heard you can use fabric dye for the blow moulded parts (canopy
and undercarriage legs), though I haven't tried it myself. If you're
interested in that, try doing a search on www.RunRyder.com for advice.

http://www.raptortechnique.com/painting.htm has some hints, including using
RIT dye, although I suspect the paint & stripper brands he mentions may not
be available outside the States.
