I need to make or buy if available in any form a timer that could be used between a single lithium cell and a small brushed motor.
Application is small electric free flight plane.
This would need to be adjustable by some means for run times between 30 seconds to 2 minutes or so.
It really needs to be light also.
This doesn't seem like it would be all that difficult to make. But I'm no electronics genius so I need a direction to look in.
Any ideas
Thanks,
Bill

Hello,
I have already made a dozen or so for friends, flying with Speed 280 and Speed 400 motors. They are modified JMP7 or JMP5 ESC's, and can be adjusted continuously from 1 s. to over 6 minutes.
For one cell use, I suppose a 1.5A type will be enough. Then the weight would be under one gram total. PM me for more details.

IIRC, there's been such a beastie discussed in the electrics column of Flying Models mag of late, in Stew Myers' half of the column - he does every other month. I recall him talking about a commercial version being on sale.
From the DC Maxecuters' website, Stew's e-mail is stew.meyers@erols.com
He's well into small FF electrics, perhaps he can help you.
A little light googling also produced :

I have a feeling Dave Rees might be behind the timer, but I couldn't find a website for HiLine

Here is a simple timer that I came across. I haven't built one myself so I can't comment on its effectiveness.
