Ey up,

Have any of you R/C heli folks here completed a PPL(H).. Or perhaps
already have a PPL(H) and taken up R/C helis.?

I just had a go in an R22 and had the ride of my life! :-)))

Got it into a successful steady hover (all controls) after 5 mins of
trying so was very pleased with myself... now I've got the bug :)

Is it worth taking up properly, or should I forget it now - if I
respect my bank balance? :) it's probably about 10k UKP worth of
training.

What are the experiences of you guys out there who have done it? I
realise this is a very open ended question... but lets face it there
haven't been very many interesting conversations on here recently :)

There is a hanggliding school in your neck of the woods,
they tow / aerotow.
check out http://www.bhpa.co.uk/menu/index.htm
(from http://www.bhpa.co.uk )

Have done PPL D/A, have share in a Duo Discus, have to agree, Hanggliding,
you just can't beat it.

What, you mean you can't do a chaos launch and a drunken sailor? :-D

You can try, but only if the wind isn't blowing harder than 28knots :-)
