I AM SCRATCH BUILDING A WINGERON SLOPER. IT WILL HAVE 50 INCH SPAN TO START WITH. SEEMS LIKE I HAVE SEEN A PROGRAM OR ARTICLE THAT HELPS WITH DETERMINING TAIL SIZE. I WILL BE PUTTING ON V TAILS AND I AM NOT SURE WHAT SIZE TO BUILD. I MADE SOME, BUT AM NOT SURE IF THEY WILL BE LARGE ENOUGH. DOES ANY ONE KNOW OF A PROGRAM OR ARTICLE THAT WILL HELP ME DETERMINE WHAT I NEED.
THANKS

Tail looks OK, I'd fly it as is..
But look here for the real skinny...

THANKS FOR THE IDEAS SPARKY PAUL.
I WILL CHECK THEM OUT
ALSO CRRC HAS SOME GOOD INFO BUT
MOSTLY ABOUT HOW TO CONVERT FROM REGULAR TAILS TO V TAILS NOT HOW TO DECIDE HOW BIG TO MAKE THEM

Here are some tail sizing guidelines from Dr. Mark Drela. You can use them to calculate a conventional tail and use the calculated size as a starting point for applying the V-tail design guidelines.
"Ch = (A_hori/A_wing) * (tail_arm/avg_wing_chord)
Cv = (A_vert/A_wing) * (tail_arm/avg_wing_span )
"A well-sized tail will be in the range...
Ch = 0.35 - 0.50
Cv = 0.02 - 0.035
If the Ch and/or Cv are below the minimum values, the handling will suffer."

thanks Ollie
I will do some calculating and see what I come up with.
Maybe with luck I guessed right or close to it.
