I was considering replacing my windows based computer with an Apple. Does anyone runs G2 on an Apple? If so, is it a pain to set-up?
This may tilt the scale back to Windows if it doesn't work.

As a long time Apple user I regret to tell you that as far as I know realflight will not work on a Mac.
You will have to run it in emulation mode (virtual PC) and it will far too slow.
on the the other hand keep your old PC for realflight and get a MAC for everything else. you will never regret it.

Nahum,
Thank you for the response. It is not what I wanted to hear, but I needed to hear it from a Mac user.
Are there different versions of Virtual PC? The Apple "salesmen" told me there would be no problem.
I sure would love to break the Windows hold.
Thanks again,

First you have to know what type of MAC you can buy. new G5 is the best with a lot of RAM More than 500 MB. running system 10.2-10.3
iMac running G4 are less powerful
I have tower G4 800 Mhz with 1.2 G ram (the high end model about 1 year ago) running system 10.2
Because I wanted to try flying helicopters on simulator before buying one I bought RF G2. and a PC, Now I have both computers on a home net. I use mac for everything except RF and some Hebrew MS program for work
Have the sale person demonstrate VPC with RF and see for your self setting up VPC is not difficult (as everything else on a Mac)
buy Mac from somebody who knows MACs
good Luck

The newest version of virtual PC (now made by microsoft BTW) will be out this spring and will be faster- for one thing it will let the virtual computer access the video card, which is a big help for 3d apps like simulators and games. I've heard rumors that the G5s will be able to emulate GHz level pentiums- much faster than even the fastest G4s can emulate (usually 1/4 to 1/3 the clock speed of the real computer).
Still, the best way is just buy a cheap PC (even an old used one will work better than emulation).
