View Full Version : Fighterbirds from Hobby Town?

I know this isn't a helicopter question but none of the other R/C
Groups appear to be active.

There are some nice cheap toys called Fighterbirds where they use a
sound pulse to shoot each other out of the sky by stopping the
electric motors for about 10 seconds. Now, these are nice simple
things, totally complete kits for about $119 at the local hobbytowns.
I first saw them on OLN and they looked like a blast. A few
co-workers and I were thinking about getting a few to take the edge
off an afternoon. Does anyone have any experiance with these things?

Btw, before you think I'm a total R/C idiot, my Raptor heli is sitting
on the desk behind me and I've been flying R/C off and on for about 14
years from basic trainers on up to a nice semi-scale P-51. I'm just
wondering mostly if these bloody things work and are worth the money.
:)

Thanks in advance!
