How much wing area is this in inches?

Wingarea : 23.4dm2 (2.52sq.ft)

I came across this on www.estarmodels.com and I was just looking to see how much wing area it is, I'm guessing that we are looking at like 350 or so, but I really have no idea. Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

1 ft = 12 in, 1 sq ft = 12 x12 = 144 sq in

2.52 x 144 = 362

Alternatively try the converters at http://www.onlineconversion.com (dm2 means square decimeter)

Bill K.,
1 square decimeter = 15.50 square inches.
Therefore 23.4 dcm^2 *15.50 = 362.7 in^2.

Thanks guys, so my guess of 350 was close, but under, very cool, now I know a rough way to get the number quickly.

........and if you see wing loadings in gms/sq dm just divide them by 3 to get the wing loading near enough in ozs/sq ft.

I have been building model aircraft for at least 40 years. I moved to Germany 25 years ago and calculate everything now in metric except for wing loading which I still do in ozs/sq ft ! Could never get used to gms/sq dm at all.

When I was at university in England in the 60's, we used a unit of air density in aerodynamics called 'slugs'. Anyone remember those ? Yes, and we worked out equations on a slide rule too !
