In gas combat you cut ribbons. The most popular classes are:
Slow Surviviable Combat (ssc) .15 displacement max. $60 engine max 17500rpm max 2.5# min, 400 sq in min, master air screw 8x3 prop
Open b,.30 displlacement max, 3.5# max
scale b, .26 displacement max,3.5 # max, 1/12th scale fighters from WWII +/- 10%
In electric the most popular seems to be zagi combat where you run into each other and try to knock the other guy out of the air. There may be other classes in electric, but that is the only one that I'm familiar with.

I hope this covers all forms of combat. I primarily fly rcca open 'b' slimer combat, but have flown slope zagi combat as well. I also hope to fly electric combat weather it is knock it down or streamer type. I have some fanfold, and a few sp370 motors which I hope to build into some type of combat ships that I can fly in the cul-de-sac with my son. Maybe with modified electronic fighterbird modules, or even with some type of streamer material.
