Hi,
I have an ACE simple series corsair kit, but have lost the plans to build it.
Is there anyone with a copy?
Thanks

Ant,
Just saw your post while looking for some ACE Corsair notes. Did anyone send you plans?

Ant,
Cool. Have you been flying your Corsair? How is it powered?

Dave,
Got the Kit jan 2003, didnt start as we were moving to Nigeria, lost the plans in the move, and got new ones in dec 2003, and only started to build a 2 weeks ago.
So far I have built the fusalage, elevator and tail, and covered the same with solarfilm, now for a question, the only other build I have done was a glider. The wings were constructed from Bulsa wood, so covering with solarfilm was easy. Now this one has foam wings, and Im way too scared to put heat anywhere near them. Any sugestions on how to cover them?
Ill have to check on the engine, I think its a 0.49 (havent got that far yet)

Hello Ant,
I got curious when you said you moved to Lagos. I was born and brought up in Lagos, although I have been working in Europe for a few years now. Are ther places to get hobby supplies in Lagos? Glow fuel especially; do you know where to lay your hand on that?
I will move back home someday, that is why I am curious.

Hi Takk,
Not much in the line of Hobby supplies, I heard one of the supermarkets brought in some electic powered planes, but pre built, and more in the toy market than hobby. I have spoken to some guy's who used to fly many many years ago, and beleive there was a small club, but havent found anything at present. I work for a shipping company but on the IT side, I have asked the airfreight guy's to look at the possibility of brining feul in but I get very worried looks as soon as I mention the contents. One Lebanese guy tried to mix his own, and lets just say the result was explosive, pretty flames, but not too good for the plane.
Any thoughts on where to fly? Im an absolute novice, only flown a glider before (for a few months untill an electric pylon jumped in front of my glider) I was thinking of Lekki or perhaps on one of the beaches down the creek
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Ant. And Takk is Norwegian for "thank you", by the way :)
I take it you live in Apapa? Pehaps you can start a craze down there..
I wish you the very best!

Ant,
For covering, just make sure you have the low-heat covering. I have built a couple of the ACE planes and haven't had an issue. I have found that testing the film on a separate piece of balsa or foam or ?? works. I set the heating iron for a temperature that just allows the film to discolor and then back it down ever so slightly. You just don't want to keep the iron in one place too long. Practice on the balsa fuse and then go to the wings. Not a big deal.
By the way, did you keep yours as a three channel, or cut the rudder and make it a four channel? This is the second one that I have made into four channel and really like the ability to have full control and make coordinated turns.
