Not aure about all the differences, but I do know that the Mars has
more memory for model settings(can store for 10 different cars as
opposed to 6 in the Precious), & the Mars has a few more features that
the Precious may not. plus, the Mars has a "level" setup that you can
use to make it easy to use for someone who's not ready for all the
features & adjustments it has(Level 1 just has the bare basics, level
2 adds some exponential & speed adjustments, level 3 adds some timing
features, & level 4 allows access to EVERYTHING, which to be honest I
may never use myself, I'm only using level 3 on my Mars, & that has
all the adjustments I could possibly want).....:)

Yes, absolutely, ALL EX-1's have the same basic shape, from the
original analog ones(which I still have around here somewhere), to the
Precious, Mars, Mars 2000 & Mars R. That's one of the reasons why I
like my Mars, I've always been very comfortable with the shape & feel
of it, so getting one was a natural....:)
