Has anyone made Topflights F4U Gold Edition kit? If so, what did you think?

If you are looking for a large, first-rate F4U, call Irwin at GiantScaleModels. He has one of the nicest Corsairs you'll find anywhere.
Tell him Dave from e-sailplanes referred you and he'll take great care of you with preferred pricing...

The TF Gold Edition Corsair is a beautiful sport scale kit is ideal for someone who enjoys building with balsa. It also just happens to fly really well. Definitely not for the beginning builder or flyer but a very satisfying project for someone who has the experience necessary to tackle it. If you have a few kits under your belt the very comprehensive instructions with the TF kits make their warbirds a walk in the park. My .02 cents, Chad Veich.

:D I have just finished a Top Flight Giant Corsair this spring and can tell you it is a great build and a great flier. Mine came in heavy at 30 pounds due to all the surface detail, full cockpit, and pilot. I power it with a Quadra 52XL on a 20/12 prop and flies beautifuly.

Gary, you must be teasing us. I can only see these guys hats and nothing else. I gotta see these pics. Can you try again?
Thanks,
David

Sounds like the Topflite Gold Edition kits are all nice. Now I am thinking about the P-51. Oh well, I'll probably make up my mind at the LHS.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY A GSP CORSAIR! IT IS GARBAGE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM GSP LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED! I WOULD RATHER TAKE MY MONEY AND TIE IT TO BRICK AND TOSS IT OVER A BRIDGE!
NUFF SAID!

Loopman - OUCH...
sounds like we've had completely different experiences and that is bound to happen as we've all experienced. The only negative I can say about the plane is its weight (a bit heavier than I would have expected), but then again it is relative to its size.

Heres a Top Flight Corsair, not the Gold edition. build a few years ago. You can go detail as far as you like with these kits.

I have a GSP Corsair, and it is far from junk...while you may see the occasional lemon, to call every one junk is short sighted...
