Hi,
am looking for a suitable subject to carry a 215 radial. Scale aerobatic biplane preferably of an earlier vintage than a pitts. Any ideas please, thanks

Not sure how aerobatic it is but it is a nice scale subject, Grumman Ag Cat cropduster. My buddy just picked one up that was scatch built and it is really cool it is about 1/4 scale. You would have go bigger probably 1/3 scale. I have no idea where to get plans or if they are even available but it is a cool plane.

Here is a couple pictures of the fuselage. Wing spans are 72".

Another. Looking for a dummy radial to hide the G-26 that is going on it. The G-26 is going to work hard to tug this around.

Go here
http://www.reidsmodels.com/products/products_set.html
and scroll down to the 1/4 scale Kinner Sportster
Easy to build and always draws a crowd, but you may have to scale it up to 1/2 scale to carry your motor. :D :D :D

I don't have it in front of me right now. but the
Waco YMF-5 in 1/3 scale would be my choice.
It's distributed through RC Showcase at least it was the last time I saw there add in RCReport.

HOW ABOUT THE BEECH STAGGERWING? I THINK NICK ZIROLI IS DONE WITH THE PLANS. THAT VINTAGE BIPLANE IS JUST CRYING OUT FOR A FUNCTIONAL RADIAL. ITS AEROBATIC AND HAS BEAUTIFLL LINES. RETRACT THE GEAR AND ITS THE FASTEST BIPE OUT THERE. IT WAS PAINTED IN MANY COLORS SO A SCALE SCHEME WOULD BE NO PROBLEM. IT WAS ALSO AN OBSERVATION PLANE DURING WWII SO A WARBIRD SCHEME WOULD BE SCALE TOO.

Oh ya!!!
Last time I checked Robart had the retracts on thier web site.
and Ziroli's web site still shows the Staggerwing plans not yet available? I think that Ziroli's staggerwing is designed around a G-62 It might be a bit too small??

THAT WOULD BE ASHAME. I BELIEVE IT HAS A 90" W/S. WOULD THAT MAKE IT TOO SMALL? I GUESS THE COWL DIA. WILL BE THE DECIDING FACTOR. IT WAS WORTH A SHOT.

There are several models specifically designed for this motor that I would reccomend, both are available as kits from EMM.
The first, and my choice would be the Rodel model Bucker Jungmeister. This is a 40 % aerobatic bipe. A super kit with a hybrid gelcoated fiberglass forward fuselage and a built up rear section. Come with all hardware and wires, plus scale gear and welded cabanes. It simulates the full scale sheeting perfectly.
The other is an ugly duckling, but unique. The big all molded Smelak from Airworld. This low wing ag craft is a super flyer. A friend of mine has one with the 215 in it and it lands at 3 mph. and will fly as fast as a pattern ship at full throttle.
no listing on my web at this time.

Sorry about that. I ment www.bigairplanes.com They have plans and short kits for Pitts Special 12's in 35% and 41% scale. Good site with plans, three views, pics of both planes being constructed, pics of the real thing, movies and tips. Merry Christmas to all. Dennis Karoleski

If I had that motor it would go in the Waco I'm building. Have a look here.

Rick;
I have a running review going of my build on RC Universe under User Product Reviews. Oops, I don’t know if I can say that here. I just found this site, (R/C Groups), a few days ago so I don’t know about the politics of mentioning other web sites. If that’s a problem and this gets censored send me an email and I’ll send you the link. bgaughen@comcast.net To much work to move it all over here.

Took a bit to navagate and find it over there. I don't think that they are censoring links to other forum's here. I've seen a bit of it in the parkflyers. This discussion board seems to be a bit quiet here in the giant scale compared to the "parkflyers".
Gotta go find it again an book mark it as I would like to read up on the big Waco.
What are you going to use for power? I would sure like to build one with the RCS 215. It would be so cool. (being rich would help)

RiBell,
I’m starting a new thread so we can discuss the Waco if you want. I don’t think we should be stepping on rs757’s thread. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join in. It’s the “Genesis Waco” thread in Giant Scale.
