Speed Control Efficiency

I just read an item on eBay that claims the truck gets much better battery
life than the stock model because it has an upgraded speed control that is
more efficient than the stock ESC. Can a speed control make a significant
difference in battery life without sacrificing power? If so, what speed
controls are the most efficient?

I suspect the seller mis-typed. An esc is much more efficient than an Msc - which bleeds
off current through resistors when you drive at part throttle. Additionally there is power
loss through the wiper contacts.

Some Esc's are slightly more efficient than others. Look in their specs to see
"Resistance", "On Resistance", or something like that.
Compare these two:

The F1 has half as much. However, even the cheap one has such a small resistance value
that it doesnt really matter. I suspect it would take a hardcore racer doing some
carefully timed laps to see a difference between the two.
