Hello,

I want to convert my Hobbico Superstar EP over to glow engine. I have a Thunder tiger .10 and a Enya .15 witch one will work?? The superstar has a 600 speed motor. Has anyone Else tried this.

Thanks.

I owned a Superstar EP and decided glow power would be better after I spent $60 for a NiMH battery. A .10 would be too small. You may get by with the .15 . I hope its a better Enya .15 than I had back in the late 60s. It was heavy. One of the newer .15 such as the Norvel would work. I would put a .25 on it if I still had my Superstar.

I want to convert my Superstar to glow as well. I have a .20 K&B. Will this be enough glow motor for this plane? This will be my first glow plane and my first time to fly glow. Any advice on the conversion? Has anyone done this to this plane?

A 25 LA would pull that one nicely, or perhaps a .15 LA. They're almost as reliable as the electric motor, and are fairly cheap.

I put the .20 K&B on my Superstar EP and it has plenty of power and WAY more than it had with the stock motor. It climbed out GREAT at a little over half throttle. I am happy with it's performance.

I would post photos of my Superstar if I only knew how.

Oh did I mention that the K&B glow motor I have in my plane is about 20 years old.

LAst weekend I figured out that I need to put more rubber bands on the wing to hold it down. I am not sure of my planes airspeed but its ground speed is about 50 mph(it kept up with cars on the road) at full throttle. Thats when I discovered I needed more rubber bands.
