Most clubs allow you to fly as long as you are on a buddy box. Check with a local club and ask them if they will let you fly some. I'm an AMA member but there are no clubs here. I travel to several different clubs and all of thm have been quite hospitible. Only one group of guys up in North Indiana were a bit of a closed society when I asked to fly at their club.

There are two ways you can fly at an AMA Chartered Club field without being an AMA member.

The first way is a one time familiarization flight on a buddy box. The second way is to be the student of a club appointed and AMA recognized AMA Introductory Pilot, but it is only good for 30 days and has a bunch of paperwork that the instructor has to do.

The first way Jim refers to has to be with the AMA members equipment only.
