Has anyone flown this plane? I needed a replacement for my tired old Magic so I ordered one up. I'm expecting it tomorrow. Any input?

Specs can be found here http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/127595.asp

Well I got it today, it seems plenty light as advertised. The quality is ok, but my wing had some broken ribs from the journy via UPS so I'm stripping the wing entirely and recovering it. Should be an ok plane. For $100 it isn't too bad. I'll post some photos when I get her all put together.

I just finished mine. It has a OS 40 FP and some changes. It"s all up weight is 3lbs. 9.7 oz. The CG came right where the book said without any lead anywhere. When the wheather gits better I will fly it.

Yeah ive got a couple questions, i am building the hot knife too and ive got hitec 225 servos which are light, id like to put an os .32sx in the interest of lightness will i have a problem being tail heavy with a light motor up front?
Doesnt the directions say to put the servos in the bottom of the wing?

If you put that light motor on it and put the rudder and elevator servos in the tail you will end up puting a considerable amount of lead on the nose. The plans show the aileron and throttle servos on the bottom of the wing. It also shows the wing hatch on the bottom of the right wing. That's why I turned my wing over. I don't like blowing exhause over a hatch and servos. That motor and servos should work really well on that plane. You should be able to get it in a little over 3 lbs. That will be KOOL.

Tail heavy? Is that a problem? ;)

Did you guys have any broken wing ribs in yours? Mine had a lot...ok, most of them aside from the wing tip ribs...I stripped the covering and repaired it....I was impressed at how light this plane was...hopefully the flight characteristics are good..they should be. :)

Yes, it is tail heavy if built according to instructions. With the elevator and rudder servos in the rear it will require a very heavy engine to to get the CG correct. I didn't have any broken ribs in mine.

Can't wait to hear how the maiden goes, how do you think it'd do as an E-conversion?

I think when you consider the light weight of the aiframe, it would make a very good candidate for e- power. I don't think there is room inside the fuse for the battery, but why not strap it on the outside left front of the nose the same way slimmers do their fuel tanks with most pofile planes.
