nice review, how much did you end up spending after it was all said and done?

About $550.00, you can do it for less but I wanted to use all of the same parts as Tim's design. For instance, you really don't need the power connectors , but they are very nice to have, that alone was about $40.00, you can also probably get by with thinner cable, cable alone was another $40.00.

A couple of questions:

1. Now that it is complete, is there any thing you would change?

2. The last few pictures of your review didn't download. Have they been posted?

I'm in line for a winch kit !

Thanks,
Steve Gibson

I'm probably not a good person to ask if there is anything I would change because this is my first winch and the only winch I have any experience with. As far as i can tell everything works great and I can't figure out if I would change anything on it. It's a very clean setup. I think the only thing would probably be if I could get away with thinner cables to the battery I probably would unless you can find 1/0 cables that are less stiff than the ones I have. It seems that mine are pretty stiff, I may have to just work them a bit and let them wear, maybe they'll loosen up, but then again, that's the least of my worries.

You should try re-loading the page, I tried it and all the pictures are there.

You might try a welding supply outlet. Welding cable is made from many more strands of much finer wire an is quite flexible. See:
