I'm getting one for my birthday! Hubby and son have 1:10 RC cars and I
saw a Micro and thought it was just the cutest thing..... I'm getting
the BMW M3 and thinking about getting the VW body to trade off
depending on mood <rbg>

Anyway, my question is on batteries. Cool that they run on AA
batteries! The battery pack is pretty expensive, however, I can get
Quest NiMH AA 1.2v 1800mAH batteries for less that $10 for four
batteries. I understand that having 5 batteries is better though (7.2v
vs 6.0v)

For just running around the neighborhood, no serious racing (at least
not yet <g>), what would you all recommend for batteries? Should I
spend the $50 for the Team Orion super battery pack, less $$ for a
lesser one or should I just get the Quest NiMH batteries and run with
those? (I have those Quest batteries for my digital camera and have
been happy with them).

For running around the neighborhood, you'll probably be happy with the
rechargeable AA's. Bear in mind that 4 NiMH's AA's will give you 4.8 volts,
not 6.0. Your Micro will run much longer, however, because AA's are larger
than the cells in the 5 and 6 cell packs. Larger cells usually translate to
longer run-times, if they're made the same way.

Once you do upgrade to the racing packs, you won't go back to AA's because
the speed is phenominal, however.

Right, for racing, I'd recommend a pack of 2/3 A cells(get a 6 cell
pack if your local track allows it). The one from Orion is an ok one,
but honestly I wouldn't pay $50 for it when you can get one that's
even better from ProMatch for about $28 off their website(& trust me,
the ProMatch packs are truly EXCELLENT, great punch throughout a long
run, there's no doubt that mine is better than my Orion pack which I
actually paid $35 for from a local shop). But as was already said, for
playing around, you'll be fine with AA's.....:)
