Tamiya TGX MK.1

Hi everyone.

I am about to purchase a 4wd petrol RC car that will run both on road and
off road. I have been advised that a shaft driven vehicle is the preferable
option for this purpose.

I was also advised that HPI's Super Nitro Rally (Subaru shell) was probably
the best value car in this league.

Since then, a hobby store advised me that the Tamiya TGX MK.1 (1/8 scale)
was the better option. The two are comparable in price, but 'apparently',
the Tamiya is the more rugged car.

Can anyone recommend which is better and why, or alternatively, the pros and
cons of either. Any other suitable cars would be appreciated as well.
