It's still fun with the Pibros!

Got any more info. on glider towing with a hook on the towed plane? One of my flying buddies is willing to fly the glider if I tow him up with my Sig Kadet. Does it matter where the hook is between the nose and CG on the glider? How long is the tow line?? How do you get the glider hook released from the tow line?
Any help or links appreciated.

yea put the line on the rear dowels on the kadet wing use 110 ft of line pur the nose hook on the bottom of the glider nose make the hook really short and almost straight down make the glider turn outside of the towplane,, dont tow down wind

If you're aerotowing, you want the tow release on the glider all the way forward: in the tip of the nose if possible. On the tow plane, attach the line on top of the fuselage, at the trailing edge of the wing. DO NOT attach it to the tail.
More info on tow releases can be found here...

jsut make a "spike" that comes almost strait down out of the very nose of your glider. Fly behind the towplane and when it turns stay outside of it. Oh and keep off the elevator as much as possible. When you are ready to release jsut pull up realy hard... on the Kadet, jsut attach the tow line to an aft wing bolt.. easy.
