In a situation with 2 motors w/ ESC, would having BEC on both ESCs create an overvoltage situation on the receiver, if the same power source were used for both ESCs?

Thanks for any info/hypotheses,

There are a few ESC's that this doesn't apply to, but yes, on most, this creates a problem.

Not to the Rx, but to the ESC's BEC circuit. BEC is an output from the ESC, not an input.

To get around this, just disconnect one of the red power wires from one of the ESC.

No overvoltage since the combined BECs are in parallel. The advantage: they will share the load and possibly add a fail-safe functionality.

Utilizing both BECs worked on my HackerMaster 30amp ESCs. Sad, since it's in a 2 servo plane. YMMV...

Utilizing both BECs did not work for a pair of MGM Compro TMM-40s. One would always enter an error state beeping until unplugged.

I'll always attempt to use both ESC-BECs if possible.

If you run tow controllers off one battery, no problem of damage tho one may decide its unhappy.

Two BECS off tow batteries may cause damage tho if one battery only is plugged in - that BEC will drive teh other one potentially backwards.

Current sharing is a moot point - it depends on teh BEC. If 'perfect' the one with teh slightly higher voltage will do all teh work, the other none. And the chips used come with tolerances.

I would not rely on it.

The safe option is to cut teh red wire on one unit if using two batteries, and just plug it all togther if using one. Unless you have a problem as above.
