I aquired a pretty much new in box Bob Sealy (sp?) Ultma. It is a '80s vintage thermal duration sailplane, 130' w/s, T-tail w/a f/g fuse.
Anybody out there ever have one of these?
Thanks, Jeff

Jeff; I never had a ultima, but I had the replacement sailplane. Bob called it a cavalier. It was nearly the same sailplane,I dont remember the differences... My wing blew up the the first winch launch... spar was weak!!! once repaired, it flew good until another wing failure.. I had bob's 2 meter,,,great sailplane.. Lee

Thanks Lee. The spars were pre-built by a builder whose craftmanship I can trust. I guess I'll build it and find out one way or another if the spars are strong enough.

If you give me the height and width dimensions of each component of the spar assembly together with the materials at the root end of the spar, then I can estimate how strong it will be and what limitations you might apply during launch to prevent the wings from folding.

Ollie, thanks for the offer. I'll get the dimensions and post them.
