Hi:)

Trying to decide on new funfly. I have a Pizzaz and its good but weighs a ton, about 5.5lb. AUW. I think it's to heavey allthough part of the problem is running a Saito .65 on the nose. If it was a .72 might be better. But as I said not bad.
Well now I want to go light and use one of my OS .46fx in it. I dont want to build but want as light as possible and will mod an arf. Iam looking at FunAir .40, and Magic. Leaning toward the funair as the wing is bolt on. The only other ARF I have seen that looks possible is the Heckler that Tower has.
Any other possibles? Anyone fly any of these and if so what was your AUW and motor used?
By the way I hate the new RCU format also and just dont use it much now. Guess they forgot why they had a lot of people useing it and went more for the money. To bad they never seemed to have heard of balance:mad

By the way the PIc is just how I land upside down:D

The Spad 3D crossed my mind. What does it weigh ready to fly? I have coro that I use for my flying wings (aierons & tips). One thing for sure it wouldnt make me nervous to do a tail touch with a piece of plastic/cardbord whatever it is.:D

Hi, Epoxy.

4 1/2 pounds flying weight. The coroplast that you need for it is 4 mm. More info can be found on the SPA3D site: http://www.spadtothebone.com/SPAD/SPA3D/

Look in "Edit Profile" for avatar (it's all the way down the page).

Good luck!:)

Thanks Predator

Got it in but the pic is alittle fuzzy. Its an Albatross full scale I took over at Evergreen its sitting kind of under Howard Hueghs HK-1 (spruce goose).

I found not only the spad website but there is a report on spad 3D in the september 2003 issue of RC Report called "fun Aerobatics" by Ed Moorman. Looks like front of the wing is only half or less of the bottom air foil?
Hmmmm maybe I will have to builld one of these.:) At least if I dont like it I'm not out much but time, and if I like it I can see flying this from any flat piece of farm field aroun here. They even have one in the article that looks like a GeeBee, kind of stand off scale, yeh if you stand off about a half mile:D Actually its pretty cool:cool: Well if I build one I will post a pic and little flight report.

Wow just noticed your location.

My Spa3d was under 4lb at one point. 46fx would be great with it. If you want to grow fast in the 3D area, this is the way!!! We like to say "Zero EDF" (emotional debt factor, from Tattoo I think)

crash it, dust it off. Fly it! Oh, in a bad one you might break the prop!!!

Predator

Is the 4mm coro hard to get where you are? How much are you talking about?
Actually I dont like t my Avitar, to fuzzy looking think I will find another pic for it.
I just measured some spare coro I had in the garage and it's a little to short for wing span so I will need to make a trip to the local sign shop. The more I thought about this Coro 3D the more I like the idea. I am going to try the hardware store for aluminimum channel. I also thought about the craft store cause I saw some aluminimum picture framing material there that might work. Sounds like I have some shopping to do.:D

Yeh predator I agree with Gordo we will get some Coro to you one way or another. Let us know.

dan@proaxis.com

Gordo like that Avitar what motor you running?

Thank you, Gordo and Epoxy, that is very kind of you. But I've got (kind of) a source.

Apparently 4mm coro is not available to the "public". It was invented here, and is manufactured in a factory up north, and I have to go there, and if I'm lucky I'll be able to get a "one-off" for about 2 sheets of 1x1m 4mm coro.....

I know where to get the U channel, as well, and I'll probably go there this week.

It's VERY generous of you, but I also have no way to pay you (I don't have a credit card yet...:p)

Agein, thank you, but...... I'll see. I'll call up the factory, and see what's what.

well, at least I've finally found the PVC!!:D
