Hey,
anyone try upgrading to 4.03?
After upgrading, it keeps telling me that it can't find a directx driver.
The 4.02 didn't have a problem, I was running directx 8.1, I upgraded to 9, downloaded the new nVidia driver, uninstalled 4.02, rebooted frequently.... Etc.... Standard windows procedures.
I am running on a machine with 256meg RAM, 1.7 ghz P4m and geforct go with 32 meg of ram...
I downloaded some of the upgraded models and they don't seem to work with 4.02...
Just reinstalled 4.02 and it works again...
Thx...

Usually, that happens if the latest driver is NOT installed correctly. Please watch and follow the NVidia instructions to the very detail! Any shortcut will lead to files remaining somewhere - files which are NOT written to comply with DX8.1 or later.
Sorry, I can't change that. This would be NVidia or Microsoft work to make the driver update more safe or a little easier.
You may as well keep 4.02 in the REFLEX directory and install 4.03 into another directory like c:\program files\reflex4030 - this way you may use both versions.
Another problem may come from a high desktop resolution which at the end exceeds your video ram size. Please try starting 4030 at a desktop resolution of 1024x768x16.

Reducing the resolution made it work.
Normally if a program (or game) has a problem with the memory, it will present an appropriate error. 4.03 gave less than a helpful response. This was not even running in full screen mode, just windowed.
I'm very surprised this program can't run on this machine at 1400x1050, I run Realflight G2 with no problems and have excellent performance, I would expect if that worked, anything would, it has far more eye candy...

For a commercial version I would agree. 4.02 is our commercial version and you did not have that error. 4.03 is a non-commercial update - in fact, it was our trial version to see how XTR will install. BUT 4.03 will never make it to a commercial version. With that support experience we will optimize XTR in a way it has to be.
