I have a computer interface that I can not get to work with FMS (very
affordable comparde to Realflight G2). If anyone could be of any help that
would be so great. I'm running windows XP. The cable is parallel, not USB.
Neither of the interface options under the controls tab work. Let me know
what ideas you have. Much thanks in advance!

Windows 2000 or XP need a different interface lead from what you normally
get for 98 or 95. I think the only one that works under XP is the 'Serial
PIC interface'. It is normally a 9 pin D shaped connector where parrallel
is normally 24 pins.
The PIC serial interface works with older versions of windows too.
I got mine from here.

Oliver is right.
Please note, the important part is the PIC, which programmable controller
chip which makes the FMS interface appear to XP as though it is a standard
serial or parallel interface.
The PIC interfaces come in serial or parallel flavours and I think I have
even seen a USB one. So don't judge too much on the size and shape of the
connector. You can get dumb serial FMS interafces which do have a 9 pin D
shaped connector but again these will only work with 95, 98 or ME.
Cheers,
Nigel
