Welcome to RC Groups

I'm assuming that you aren;t wanting to make a static display propellor, so I'll move this thread to the Modelling Science forum, which is for the discussion of aerodynamics etc. You will be more likely to get your question answered in that forum.

cheers

This may or not be of any help, but I found great satisfaction in carving a balsa prop in about 15 minutes with these instructions. If nothing else it is a great excercise that may help your basic understanding. Sorry if this is too basic for your needs, but it is so cool!
OOPS!, the page doesn't exist anymore but I found it archived here

It would help a lot if you can tell us what the propellor will be used on and what the power source will be.

If you're interested in the aerodynamics of propellers it's well worth having a look at Martin Hepperle's site http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/index.htm

the propeller is used for a remote control airplane that will carry a video camera. i dont know the basic of the propeller. the propeller will be connected to a dc motor but i dont know the exact figure.thank you for your help.

Think of the propellor as a small wing that moves.

Use foilsim from nasa and some data which I shall post
for wings in my other thread.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=159182

The wing theory should explain the thrust but there is another
aspect.

The speed of air flowing. This is best described as a screw
that moves the air. Can be approximated using the wing
theory. I shall atttemp to provide a simplified collision theory
for the propelor design, mostly for my own use.

Enclosed is my collection of propeller formulas.

One uses a winglet model and ideal kinetic theory,
using angle of attack to design.

The other one easier and more reliable for NASA site,
using pitch as a parameter.
