Hey gang,
Well, this here is my first attempt at my own scratch built spad design. The Clancy Lady Bug is one of my favorite planes of all time, so I thought I'd give building a spad version a try. It came out really well. I used the original plans for building specs, used 4 mm for the fuse, and 2mm for the wing and tail section. I'm not sure if you spad purists out there require 100% coroplast, but I used balsa and ply for the firewall, engine mount, wing mount, and axle box. I used HS-55 servos, a 850mah lithium ion 2-cell pack receiver battery, Cirrus 4 channel micro FM Rx, 1.5 ounce tank, and an AP Wasp .061 engine. AUW came to 15.7 ounces. Haven't maidened her yet, that should be sometime next week.
Quick question for you .061 pros out there: Will my wasp engine power this little ship? This is my first time using such a small gas engine, so I really have no frame of reference.
Enjoy the pics!
