TC3 With an HPI Civic Si Body

I am relatively new to the RC scene, and I thought that I would take the
initiative and use a body that did not come with my car. Needless to say,
the body mounts for the HPI Civic Si body are too short. I really do not
want to trim away at the body. I have an RC10T from 10 years ago as well,
and I was thinking using 4" body mounts on top of the rear truck mounts to
make the project function. Does anybody else have a better idea?
