That pretty much says it. I can't tell you the number of times I've been at
the RC field and been hit with, "I want to learn to fly helicopters but I don't
want to spend any money to do it!" Usually, I just advise these folks to take
up kite flying. ;-) Not really, but helicopters aren't exactly on the lower
end of the cost spectrum in the RC world and after a few questions, it's easy
to determine whether or not the individual is as interested in helicopters as
they they think they are.

The impulse buyer has been around as long as there's been hobby shops. As John
says, they help keep the shops in business and provide us with the "occasional"
good deal on some used, sometimes never flown, equipment.
