Anyone know if SMALLnet is still up and running? Tried subscribing a while back but got nothing. Anyone have any ideas on what's up??? Thanks, Greg.

There have been a few threads about this on the RCU 1/2a forum. I believe SMALLnet has been down for over a year, unfortunately. Despite all the RCU bashing that's been going on here lately, I have really found the 1/2a forum there to be a great asset, probabaly the best alternative to SMALLnet. Hope that info helps out.

The thing I miss about SMALLnet is the number of heavy hitters that were on there, guys that designed the wild stuff. I built a few of Renger's designs, and a few more of the 50-60s stuff by... damn, cant remember (the Martian lander comes to mind)! Lots of the old timers came and contributed, they may still be there under pseudonyms, lurking...

However, E-Zone covers most of the stuff, this column plus the freeflight space does a good job with very good moderators.

Actually, Smallnet has been missing for several years. Joe did a bang up job with Smallnet and I really miss it.

After several years' outage, sometime in the last year I got a revived distribution of Smallnet, and then more silence. Never saw another one. Joe never sent out a termination message, so we all were left wondering.
