Thanks for all the tips on glassing my P-40 instead of monokote...it's coming out sweet. Anyhow, i am having a hard time finding a combat pilot . Paul, you seem to be the "Godfather" of this website, where can i find a "sharp" looking pilot figure, other than the lame Williams version??? 1/6th scale, American, pref. painted. Thanks again Bros. Hi Tony

If you aren't too critical for weight and you don't mind spending some cash there are superbly detailed 1/6th scale pilot action figures produced by Blue Box International and Dragon Minatures. These are pretty heavy (Gi Joe sort of weight) but have the full regalia in terms of uniform and look great. You could save a lot of weight with these by removing the body and just making a lightweight stuffed doll inside the flying suit.

I think I have a link in an old thead showing a picture:

which has a nice P-51 pilot figure

and for $40 you could have a pilot who might be more at home in a P-40

There is also a US company producing excellent custom pilots. They are expensive, but for a special model they can make an accurate carcature of yourself (or a flying buddy) and have a variety of uniforms available.

They will personalise an action figure to match a three view photograph of your face.

Pete's Pilot's in the UK produce excellent 1/6th scale pilot figures that might fit the bill. Pete Richardson has a simple website with examples and you can order from there.

There should be something in there that'll do!

Be sure to post pictures of the P-40 with the pilot on board.

I agree with Brian there, I use Petes Pilots for my big stuff but use the blue box toys for all my models between 5th and 7th scale. The detail makles up for the slight variance in scale.
One important thing, is it a half or sull body pilot you are looking for.
good luck

Lemme guess - he was part of a multi-pack along with a Red Indian, Cop, Sailor and Biker ;)

Nice job!
