I started in this hobby a few years ago. I did it because it looked fun. As it turned out, it is a lot of fun. That is why I continue in the hobby; It's fun.
What is wrong with some of you people that leads you to breed such negativity and spite into a pastime that is supposed to be fun?
I honestly cannot believe some of the things I'm reading in this forum. I think some of you, as responsible adults and AMA members, should be ashamed of yourselves. I'm certainly ashamed to be a part of an organization with members who behave like this.
I think some of you need an attitude check. If you want to play politics, take your hateful rhetoric and run for city council. If you want to have fun, go fly your planes.
I don't care what your AMA number is, you have no place in this organization if all you bring is negativity and spite.
I welcome a response from any of the offenders. I doubt, however, that you have anything to say to excuse yourselves.

Go ahead and name names, it might help. Me too, if need be.
I do think some people ought to just shut up already with their constant negativity. It makes a forum like this impossible to be productive.
Just keep in mind that the garbage that you read here is NOT a reflection of either the AMA or you and I, the people who make up the AMA. It's just a few people, and they have been doing it for years. It's sad. And embarrasing.

J R, Hossfly, and you at times. Take your politics to your own threads. Leave our threads alone so we can enjoy the forum.

Eliminate Politics entirely, I sure wouldn't object.

Honestly, naming names is counter-productive. It all just needs to stop. I think some of the negative energy focused on who is screwing who needs to be directed toward how to increase membership and keep our fields.
The self-serving battles that go on in here are counter-productive and serve to do nothing but discourage current and future members.
All of the offenders are certainly intelligent people, when their emotions allow for intelligence. I sincerely look forward to seeing that intelligence work toward helping all of us enjoy this wonderful hobby.

As posted in other threads, I have learned a lot about my district (dreaded VIII) over the last few weeks. Politics can be annoying but it is very difficult to avoid them.... unless you just stop reading. The technology thread was/is interesting and too bad it is turning the wrong direction but it started as the type of thread this forum needs.
Those of you not involved in D-8.... sorry about the mess but rest assured it has played a vital role in MY voting decision and I'm glad the forum was started. My fellow club members are being made aware of the situation and have been encouraged to vote.
Eliminating politics?.... kinda like perpetual motion - just a great theory.
It's Friday and a beautiful weekend is upon us..... LET'S FLY!!!!

I stand properly castigated, you are not wrong. I just want to make sure that people really KNOW who they are dealing with, and sometimes the complete rewrite of history is a little too much to take. I think, though, at this point, my point is well made, and I don't need to say anything further about that charachter.
So, I will take your criticism as at least SOMEWHAT deserved, and stay outta that fracas from now on.

But...I'm not sure you DID learn anything! I really do beleive that the impressions you get here on the net about AMA are often completely different from what you get from the man on the street. Instead of telling your club what you have learned...why not ASK the club what they know instead? What are they really thinking?

Sorry Easy.... I DID in fact learn a few things about the AMA in reading these threads. You do have to separate fact from opinion but there are facts I did not know about. I have also learned somthing about our nominees and that information is being passed on.... shortcuts to these thread are being sent out and members are being incouraged to vote as they see fit.... not the way I see fit.
I can say I have narrowed the field down to two choices!!;) ;) ;)
BTW.... What a GREAT flying weekend we had. Due in part to AMA sanctioning and organization. I might even be ready for some politics now.

ROFLOL!
It was WET in San Angelo this weekend. So we taught folks how to fly in the rain! Not much looks more interesting that a bird hydroplaning in the rain and crosswind!
Those I visited with seemed to have the same views I do so the balance of the 'free' time between challenges of the weather was spent discussing needs, plans, and goals. Very interesting conversations. That probably deserves a different thread.

Well, I'll have to concede that! You DID learn a few things, so it's not a dead loss!
Best o' luck to all you DVIIIers (deviators?) from us folks here in New York City. Hope ya'll vote.
