I bought a P-47 60 size warbird. I would like sugestions about which size engine (2 or 4 cycle & size) & props (2,3 or 4 blade and size) to use. The warbird has a wingspan of 67 inches & it's 53 inches long.
I also would like to know if I could find the scale of this warbird because it's not stated in the manual which is very brief. I understand that it's propably a 1/7 scale plane.
Thanking you in advance for any help !!

All variants of the full size P-47 with the exception of the N had a span of 40' 9" so that makes your model 1/7.3 scale. Might as well call it 1/7 scale. Good luck with it.

Is it the modeltech arf? If so great flying airplane I have two. I would swap out the retracts to spring air. As far as engine both of mine fly great with a os 91 two stroke. If its not a model tech it sounds pretty close on size to mine and I would investigate using a 91 for power. For a prop I've been using a two blade 14-6, its not scale being a two blade but when its running I tell everyone its a fourblade.

Sounds like the Modeltech version to me also. If it is it will require much nose weight if you use a 91 four-stroke(FS) like I did. There are some fellows using 120 FS on their planes with much less nose weight and more power. If you can afford the 120 why not use it, otherwise it flies great with a 91 FS.
The retract upgrade is also a good idea as the mechanicals are flimsy. If you fly off grass as we do you can put it away until the grass is burned from the summer heat and then mowed to a scalp. The wheels are just to small and the retracts are just to flimsy for any grass at all in my opinion. The plane however is very easy to fly and it looks awesome.

I have a Saito 120 and have been looking at a warbird ARF of this type to install it in! Looks like this is a good choice!!
