Your threads all show glow and gas powered SPADS. Anyone building electric powered SPADS?

John,
I was thinking the same thing... Unfortunately, I think the GWS 300C I have wouldn't provide enough thrust for a very good plane. Any ideas? I'm going to check out this e-spad thing right now.

which gearing is the 300c?

It's a D gear. (6.6:1) The real issue lies in the thrust to weight ratio I guess.

Check out this fanfold ESPA3D. It doesn't get much simpler, and man does it fly! It's still just a prototype, but opening up a whole new world to a couple guys who are brand new to electrics.

There is also a very long thread here about this model and it's ongoing evolution!

Here's a sport E-Spad I'm finishing up, should fly it this weekend. It's a brushless setup on 10 cells, it should perform! For what I paid, it BETTER perform!

If you're into the classics a little more, here's a Sopwith Camel made from 3mm Coreflute and lite ply. I'll be posting a build thread within a few weeks . A friend designed these little beauties, you should see them fly, this one has a gws 380 g/box combo, mines gonna have brushless power in the form of a Typhoon micro-6.
