Check out the Microchip Web site www.micrchip.com for AN847. It has theory of operation, schematics, and software. Definately worth a look

This link doesn't work until you've registered to this page and know portuguese or pretend to know as I do ;)

Yes that is a valid problem but unfortunatly that is not my page and I cant change the registation method, Sorry folks :-(
Dj2u if your problem is start to learn some portuguese language you have find the right way. Try to open the electronics schematics that are post there and put your brain working :-))

Combining my french and italian skills I managed to register myself and I even got a senha ;-)

Done!

but concerning the ESC I will try to build one of my own because there are only one or two designs around. Just kidding, but I want to learn a bit AVR for next years crazycar race ( crazycar.fhbb.ch your opportunity to learn a bit german) because we have to switch from Fujitsu to AVR.

So Diego Thanks for your registration, you have arrived to one of the best´s portuguese aeromodel sites! :-)
About AVR i´m tried to build now a Brushless ESC BLMC from Bernards with the ATMEL 90at2313 and until now i have a very good results. All of the ESC is building with standart electronic components not SMD, so he is a little huge now but extremly fine working with Brake and Timming programming possibilities.

cool project!
I want to build this one later after my conventional ESC.
I prefer SMD Parts over the normal ones because in my opinion they are easyer to solder (no flipping of the board) even with standard iron and solder, but they are very hard (read expensive) to get if you don't have them at work.

has someone tried to assemble this (http://www.barello.net/Papers/RCtoPWM/ ) with the AVR-GCC?
I always get an error, something saying at90s1200.x not found or so. Tried to mess around with the makefile and includes but no success so far.

any suggestions??

Get rid of the -T option. I got the same hex result as the one in the site with the default ld script.

You may use Bl and B both on same ESC hardware by software changes.

Based BL-ESC schematic and descriptions are here;

Please note that www.capable.ca/rcstuff/ and www.capable.on.ca/rcstuff/ have changed to www.stefanv.com/rcstuff/

I've also added a copy of the ESC design I did for QuietFlyer, a brushed ESC with BEC and Brake, at www.stefanv.com/rcstuff/escboth.html
