Does anybody have any more info on the giant A-10?
Was it powered by a turbine or EDF?
Whichever way - I think they really need a clear canopy :)

Michael. It had twin turbines in it. There were no electrics at the event this year on the flight line. In the past, there would be at least a few.
Thanks Kevin, hopefully some of the guys will post some in flight photos.

Hello everyone, I had a wonderful time at the jet fly. Man so many good pictures Don. I took 180 and I wish I could show them all. Very good fly byes too. I will attempt to post some shots of the A-10 for everybody. I got it taking off, flying by and also landing. What a plane.

Uncle,
One of the jets had a normal takeoff but instead of taking a left turn in the pattern, it went right...hit the top of a tent...crashed between two lines of cars and within a few feet of a teenage boy. No one was hurt but a lot of soiled pants.
The other was what looked like a Bobcat who lost radio or orintation and crashed in a bean field.

UncleJoe/Don,
Although I don't remember a Bobcat going in, I know that there must have been more than only two crashes as two aircraft went in on Friday alone. My Facet 1200 speared a BVM Mavrick midair just after Friday's scale show (about noon.) Incidentally, if anyone observed the incident and saw what made contact with what, I'd really like to know as there wasn't enough left of either aircraft to tell! (Just morbid curiosity...)

Yikes Kevin!!! We were there Saturday, there wasn't much left of the first one that went in so I wasn't positive what the plane was. Were you able to salvage any of your gear out of the plane or was all that a loss also???? Mucho dinero speared at one time.
Don
BTW WELCOME to the site!!!

Thanks for the welcome Don,
What was left of the Facet was parked in the rear corner of the Great Northern Models tent. As anyone who saw it will tell you, there wasn't much left to see! However most of the equipment was intact. The steering servo was a right-off, all the rest of the radio equipment seems to have come out okay. The best part was that I only have a tiny dent on the can of my 1200; I shudder to think what would have happened to a less well protected turbine.
