How does the Su-Do-Khoi fly? I would put a OS 46 FX.

I really like mine a lot ! This is my second one and I am having a ball with it. It is full 3D capable and does it all. Knife Edge has some coupling but that's no biggie. The 46FX will be fine. That is what I had on my first one. Plenty of power. I would use a APC 11.5x4 prop with that engine combo.
I mounted the tank on the outside of mine and notched the wing a little for that matter. Very clean and works perfect.
Are you planning on the kit build version or ARF ?

Ulf

Here is my current one (ARF version):

You will want to stay at the field all day, the plane is so much fun. I used a Saito 72 on mine and it worked awesome..............

Well I am on my fourth, and I have the fifth in the building board now!!! The one I am currently flying has an enlarged rudder and an elevator that is enlarged and I also added counterbalances to it. What a blast, as far as the motor goes a FX.46 with a tuned pipe is the way to go.

My new version will have a completely flying horizontal stab..... It will either be the most fun or the biggest pile I have ever had!!! I will keep you all informed of it's progress.

I think Morris sells the plans with a set of ribs. Give them a call or look at their website. www.morrishobbies.com

The kit are really good, I have 1 set of plans that I keep copying from my first kit, I also photo copied the rib and formers, so now I just buy wood and cut them out myself.

If you add some carbon to the fuse sides and to the elevator leading edge, you can save a lot of crashes from wood breaking due to hi g maunivers.

If you would like to know where I make the changes PM me and I will be glad to let you know.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

first take the verticle line of the rudder and extend it until it intersects with the leading edge, then from there extend the rudder 1 1/2 inches back. maintain original shape of trailing edge.

on the elevator I reduce the horizontal stab by 1 1/4 inches and that becomes your counterbalances for the elevator, now if you are really into doing pop-ups, add 1 1/2 inches to the trailing edge keeping the original shape of the trailing edge.

you will need to get sone carbon fiber, I order it from www.cstsales.com they offer very light weight carbon in 10 foot rolls pre-cut into 1/4 inch widths.

glue 1 length 1/4 inch wide to the top, middle, and bottom of the fuse sheeting (on the inside) then glue to fuse ( I use thin CA then rube it into carbon to set it to the wood) also wrap the entire leading edge of the elevator.

good luck

Hi Rick,
good to see you here. Welcome.
I heard from Gator that you bought my old Jagermeister GWB. Are you still flying that fat Beast ? How do you like it ?

Hello Ulf- Yes, I did buy your old GWB from Gator for my son. He has been flying a Magic which is fairley hard to learn 3D for a 9 year old. So I just bought him that to accelerate his 3D a bit faster than the magic. It is a good flying bird, I also put it on a diet with mini servo's and a Nimh 720 Mah battery pack and it fly's much better. Take care. Ricky

Very fun plane! Yes, there is roll coupling in KE, but all else it is great. I have a 46FX on mine as well, with the stock muffler there is plenty of power. Mine came out at 4 Lbs 6 oz, but I have all standard radio gear in it. With NIMH and lighter servos I think you could get close to 4LBS. My favorite things to do with it are Touch and go's with tail slides or a short hover in between. Also hand releases are fun - all the typical fun fly stuff. I tried to save a little time on mine and used pushrods for the elevator and rudder - DON'T DO THAT! Use pull pull. I've been fighting flex in the pushrods all the time. My favorite prop for that combo (I think my fellow bros would agree) is the APC 11.5 X 4. Oh, and run your RX antennae in a tube out the wingtip. Anywhere else and it gets messy.

Feel free to ask any questions. I'm very glad I have mine.

I have only one negative comment and that is that the 6oz tank is a little small and I often run out of fuel because I am having so much fun:D .
