Has anyone had any recent success in getting hold of anyone at
e-flight.co.uk? I've sent several emails over the past few weeks, all
with no reply. I'd read that they were on vacation, then they
apparently had a death in the family, but I sort of figured I'd
eventually hear back from them. I've been prepared to dump some cash
on them, but can't get a reply. Are they still manning the ship and
processing orders, etc?

Thanks for any info,

Jim

.... they're not the best at replying to emails..even if you want to enquire
about items you are thinking of buying from them, and wanting some friendly
advice first, you'll be lucky to receive a reply. I haven't had any
joy...nor has my brother...and reading other forums it seems the norm from
them.

I've also found that if you have a long shopping list of items....if they
don't have one some of the parts in stock(even though it says it's in stock
on their site), they just despatch the items they got without letting you
know... You'll only get to know when you receive the rest of the parts.

...ordered some standard full sym pic pro blades from them, and I received
semi symetrical pic collective blades...

...not a good thing..

....but they seem to be the biggest stockist of electric stuff...so I just
grin a bear it..

Thanks, at least I know they're still alive and kicking and likely to
fill my order (at least w/ the parts they fancy sending me... ;-)
When you're the strongest player (I haven't found anywhere else that I
can get an Eolo w/ speed controller, servos and gyro for $400 US), I
guess you take certain liberties! As you say, grin and bear it or
speak with your feet and wallet... I suffer from a thin wallet
myself...

Andy: Response to Usenet since the e-mail address you supplied just
bounces back e-mail.

Hello,

I just saw your message on usenet about E-flight. E-flight is a
family run model shop and during September we had a sudden, unexpected
and tragic death in the family which took quite a bit of our time and
our thoughts was simply elsewhere. This information appeared on
several BBS's dedicated to electric flight.

Reading your comments I find some of the information disturbing and
inaccurate.

You stated: "I've also found that if you have a long shopping list of
items....if they don't have one some of the parts in stock(even though
it says it's in stock on their site), they just despatch the items
they got without letting you know... You'll only get to know when you
receive the rest of the parts."

We are a full time model shop, just as no other model shop gives to
the minute stock information on websites neither can we, recording
stock online is just not possible in this day and age. We receive a
large amount of fraudulent orders which, when we used a stock control
system online marked all the products out of stock very quickly.
Walk-in and telephone orders affect stock which are not recorded on
the website. All model shops use the same part-ship backorder system,
it does not state on the website that the item is in-stock, yet we do
hold large stocks. You have the choice to leave comments with orders,
something which you have not done and our back order policy is
explained in your order confirmation.

You stated: "..ordered some standard full sym pic pro blades from
them, and I received semi symetrical pic collective blades.....not a
good thing.."

On order 28975 - Wednesday 13 August 2003 you requested, Item 68213 -
Piccolo Collective Wood Main Blades this item was shipped. YOU DID
NOT order Pro Blades (Item 68239)

You stated "...but they seem to be the biggest stockist of electric
stuff...so I just grin a bear it.."

We have an excellent reputation for service, knowledge and response.
If you did read other forums you would SEE IT IS NOT THE NORM from
E-Flight. Yet if you took more care in stating your e-mail address
and in ordering items then you would get a response and the items you
require.

I was very disappointed to read your inaccurate and damaging comments.
I will call you to discuss your issues.

Kind Regards

Ian
